Brüssel: 20.9.18 – Security Policy Summit “A brave new world”

PAST

Last week’s NATO Summit saw Allies agree on some of the most impressive policy deliverables of any summit in recent memory, but it was mired by tensions in the transatlantic relationship. In this context, it is now more important than ever to launch and promote new visionary ideas on the future of NATO, European defence and security, and the current security developments shaking our world.

Join our Partner Friends of Europe for its upcoming Security Policy Summit “A brave new world: Adapting to a changing security landscape”, taking place on Thursday, 20 September 2018 in Brussels.

Among other issues, we will discuss:
Whether the new security and defence capabilities currently being developed will allow Europe to respond more effectively to external conflicts and crises and play a greater role in fostering peace
Whether Europe has already lost the ‘arms race’ for the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics for defence applications
What changes NATO needs to embrace to be able to meet the security and defence challenges of the 21st century
